Terms of use

The terms for using this website, including our safety guidance, emergency contact, donations and volunteering.

Last updated

These terms apply to your use of the Mountain Injury Foundation website. By using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

The safety guidance on this site is general information to help people prepare for the mountains. It is not medical advice and it does not replace training, a doctor or the judgement of an experienced guide on the ground.

We always try to help people in trouble, but mountain rescue depends on weather, terrain, aircraft and people being available. We cannot guarantee that a rescue will be possible or how quickly a team will arrive. In an emergency, call the numbers on our emergency page rather than relying on a website form.

A donation pledge made on this site is a statement of intent: no money is taken until you complete payment using the details we send you. If you give by mistake or the amount is wrong, contact us within 30 days and we'll put it right.

Getting in touch about volunteering does not guarantee a placement. Field roles require training and a health check, and volunteers must follow our safety protocols and the instructions of their team leader.

Text, photographs and logos on this site belong to us or to the people who took them, and are used with permission. Please ask before reusing them.

We link to other websites, such as maps and social media, for convenience. We aren't responsible for their content or how they use your information.

We work to keep this site accurate and available, but we can't promise it will always be either. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from use of the site.

These terms are governed by the laws of Nepal.
