Tihar with a purpose: join our Deusi Bhailo
Every summit push takes courage, and it carries real risk. Some people have lost their lives on the mountains. Others have come home with serious injuries and now live with daily difficulties. Join our fundraising event with music and dance performed by our climbers, guides, and porters.

Namaste, and warm greetings from the Mountain Injury Foundation. Thank you for opening your door to us this Tihar. Your songs, your lights, and your kindness mean a lot to us. This year they mean more, because what you give helps save lives in our community.
Who we are
To every porter, guide, climbing guide, Sherpa and support worker in the mountains: this foundation is for you.
We are a young organisation, but for several years now we have been teaching mountain workers the skills they need, offering training and technical help, and speaking up for their rights. Our aim is simple. We want adventure tourism to be safer, and we want everyone who earns a living on the mountains to work in a safe environment.
In practice, that means sharing safety knowledge and skills. It means rescuing people caught in mountain accidents. It means standing beside injured workers until they can get back to everyday life. And when someone does not come home, it means helping their wife, children, and family rebuild a livelihood. We also support mountain workers and their families more broadly.
Why this matters
Every summit push takes courage, and it carries real risk. Some people have lost their lives on the mountains. Others have come home with serious injuries and now live with daily difficulty. Their families have carried grief and money worries at the same time. We cannot take that pain away, but we can make the road ahead a little easier.
How you can help
Give in whatever way suits you, whether that is money or another kind of support. There is no small gift and no large one. Every contribution counts, and there is still a lot to do.
If you cannot join us in person, you can still give. Scan the QR code attached to this letter with the mobile banking service of Sanima Development Bank.
Where your gift goes
The relevant government authorities audit our accounts regularly. We take that seriously, and we are committed to being open about how every contribution is used.
