Namche health post reopens with year-round staffing

A refurbished clinic means trekkers and residents no longer wait for the season to see a doctor.
The health post in Namche Bazaar has reopened after a full refurbishment, and for the first time it will be staffed year-round.
Until now, residents had to wait for the trekking season, or travel for days, to see a doctor. The new post has two treatment rooms, an oxygen supply, and a telemedicine link to Kathmandu.
“Winter is when we need a doctor most, and it used to be when there was no one here.”
